His attention to detail is unparalleled, knowledge of both the art and history of his trade astonishing, and his commitment to timelines and budgets will all make you forever happy you selected him and his team as your builders. I commissioned Jordan to build an outdoor post and beam structure to cover a pizza oven and grilling area. We used a design that he came up with from the fourteenth century, fitting for my application as the home on the property was built in 1630. We discussed the ideas I had and dimensions via email and phone, took some measurements via FaceTime and not long after Jordan showed up at my home with his crew. The project was completed over a three day weekend. Everything fit like a glove and everyone who has the opportunity to enjoy the structure can't say enough about it's beauty and amazing joinery. I am going to have Jordan do another project for me in the near future. If I ever have the opportunity to build a home Jordan would be my contractor. Honest and hard working, completion in a timely manner and worth every cent!

I dreamed of building a timber frame barn using the classic time tested methods seen in old barns throughout the US and Europe for over a decade. The challenge was finding a true craftsman. I began the search in earnest in 2017 researching over 20 framers up and down the east coast. Virginia, PA, Massachusetts, up to Vermont as far as Maine, I got to them all, well almost. I had my top three until a cold January day when I met Jordan Finch. In a few minutes I realized the search was over. More knowledgeable, attentive, creative, detail oriented and above all .... passionate. Passionate, did I say passionate? Highlight that word people, timber framing is Jordan's life's work. He's studied the craft here and in Europe, he teaches and continues to learn. He loves his work. Then it took me a few years to work through land issues, but in 2022 we began planning. Jordan's attention to detail was evident as soon as he began the drawings. A perfect plan sets the stage for a gorgeous building. He'd send me a version and I'd review using "Sketch Up Viewer". Using the program I could spin the building and view from any angle. Very useful. We finalized the plan. This past winter he built the entire structure in his shop, assembled it to ensure it was perfect, then labeled it for transport and assembly. In late May 2023 Jordan, his team and entire family worked together to erect our a 48 x 52 foot barn. Watching his family work side by side with him, learning and working together with his team was an unexpected treat. With amazement I watched as a massive 52 foot long 2 story high wall of timbers slid into another with all 10 joints fitting perfectly. How is that possible? Because Finch Woodworks built it. The building is up now, it's stunning and far beyond my expectations. There aren't enough stars in Google's cloud to give Jordan Finch, I give 5 because I can't give 5 million. Thank you Jordan for the care and attention you gave to my project every step of the way. I am most grateful.

Let me begin by saying that we are VERY PLEASED with the timber frame Jordan Finch constructed for us! When we decided to double the size of our house, we knew we wanted to incorporate timber framing into the construction. We attended a class on timber frame construction to start the planning process. We learned it is a relatively long process and finding the right timber framer was critical. We came across a large number of Amish builders, but wanted someone local in Virginia.
We finally found Jordan and, as an Engineer, I was very impressed with both the precision and artistry of his work. Jordan learned many of his skills as an apprentice cabinet maker and his attention to detail and tight tolerance is evidenced in his work. He extended his craft into computer aided design. With this, he was able to demonstrate his ideas to us visually. His ability to custom design a timber frame structure lead to the masterpiece he created. Throughout the design process we developed an appreciation for his artistry. We employed an Architect he had worked and a builder that was also recommended. The construction process was amazing. We went out to his shop several times to see the preconstruction work in process. The day of assembly was an amazing event. Jordan showed up with his crew and his family. Wife and daughter (Quinby and Aurelia), supported his crew and sons (Asher, Malcom and Gus were right in the middle of construction!). His crew of five timber framers were professional and respectful of our property. Everyone knew their job and the entire assembly was done in a few days. Today I appreciate the tight tolerances on the joinery. The original timber frame in my house is functional, but what Jordan produced is art. We proudly display the detailed work to anyone that comes to visit.
